Rackvio

Universal Aliases

Your rack is called four different things in four different systems. Rackvio stores every one of them and resolves all four to the same object, so nobody has to remember which name belongs to which tool.

Key Benefits

What makes Rackvio's universal aliases different.

Search By Any System's Name

Paste the identifier from Salesforce, Oracle, FNT, ServiceNow or a spreadsheet into search and land on the right object. Your team stops keeping a translation table in their heads, and nobody has to learn Rackvio's naming to find anything.

Names Live At Every Level

Sites, buildings, floors, rooms, racks, devices and more each carry their own foreign names. Reconciliation is not limited to assets, because the disagreements between systems rarely are.

Bulk Import That Refuses To Guess

Load a CSV of names from any system. Exact matches are written automatically; anything ambiguous is left alone and listed for a human, with every candidate shown. Nothing is silently attached to the wrong rack.

A Migration You Can Stop Halfway

Foreign names are additive — they never rename or overwrite what you already have. You can map one system this quarter and another next year, and the old identifiers keep working the entire time.

Resolution Through The API

Integrations post a foreign name and get the canonical object back, so scripts written against your legacy identifiers keep working after the cutover instead of being rewritten alongside it.

How It Works

Get started in three straightforward steps.

1

Name your source systems

Register the systems you are reconciling against. Community Edition covers a single source system, Cloud Starter three, and Cloud Growth and Enterprise as many as you need.

2

Import the names you already have

Upload a CSV exported from each system. Rackvio previews the outcome against your live data before anything is written, so you see exactly what will match and what will not.

3

Decide the leftovers, or leave them

Unmatched rows collect in a worklist visible on every edition. On Cloud Starter and above, the review queue lets an operator pick between same-named candidates and accept a mapping, with a full day to undo it and an audit trail naming who decided.

4

Search stops caring which system you came from

Once a name is stored, it resolves everywhere — search, the API, and integrations — for anyone on your team, with no further setup.
